Franz was a Soldier Bavarian Army.
It is believed that all three sons left for the US during a political controversy,
evidently when Germany gained control of Bavaria around 1855. Came to Ill.
by invitation of the Schmidt family who had been neighbors in Strasstich, Baveria..
Franz arrived in America on the Elizabeth Demson, sailing from Antwerp to New York on Dec 17, 1856.
