Born the son of Otto R. and Lena J. Reuter Segler, he first married Wanda L. DeLong. He later married Sarah L. Prince on March 15, 1958, in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are four daughters, Sandra Segler, Deborah (Larry) Trollope and Cynthia Madrigal, all of Bartonville, and Valerie Sloka of Carlsbad, Calif.; three sons, Roger (Shari) Segler of Bartonville, George Segler of Peoria and Bradley (Sue) Goodapple of Bartonville; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother; his stepfather, Lyle Hollis; one brother, Clarence Segler; one granddaughter, Nicole Segler; and one son-in-law, Jose Madrigal.
Mr. Segler was employed by Caterpillar Inc. for 37 years, retiring Feb. 1, 1984, as a general foreman.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict and a member of Limestone American Legion, Post 979 in Bartonville.
Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Bartonville.
