In 1778 when he was 13, the Revolutionary War
was going on and he enlisted. He served several
posts between 1778-1782.
By 1847 he was living
with daughter Louisa Jones in Stockton,
Chautauqua Co., NY. He died on November
27, 1847 and was buried in Stockton,
Chautauqua Co., NY.
One of his granddaughters
was Josephine B. Mix (nee Dexter), a 19th Century Woman
Physician of the Medical College of New York City.
Asa Turner has a plaque at Turner's Corner's ie Old
Baptist Road and 8th Concession, at the Baptist
Church, Sidney Township, Hastings Co. He had
land just a few settlements (farms) away. The
plaque wasplaced by the Gov't of Ontario
commorating his work in founding many Baptist
Churches in Upper Canada.
