Deborah was born on 1782 in Wells, Maine and died on 15 OCT 1859 in Woburn, Mass. . She was the daughter of Isaac Bourne (ABT 1753 - 2 MAR 1829) and Susanna Patten (Bourne) (ABT 1754 - 12 AUG 1825). Deborah was married to Maj. Wilbraham Kimball on 20 OCT 1804 in Wells, Maine. Maj. Wilbraham was born on 18 SEP 1778 in Wells, Maine and died on 28 OCT 1852 (age: 74) in Woburn, Mass. . He was the son of Israel Kimball (D: 17 OCT 1823) and Eleanor Dennett (Kimball) (10 JUL 1753 - 30 SEP 1838). View Family Chart - - -

Grandmother Kimball, who died when I was two years old, in contrast to grandfather, was a very vivacious women. She dearly loved to 'go places' and as mother has often said, she was always ready to put on her bonnet and start on a trip, long or short!
She outlived grandfather by seven years. She too died in Woburn in 1859.
Notes in the diaries of Uncle Israel, from 1855 to 1859 record frequent trips that she made between Woburn, Portsmouth and Wells. In Oct 1855 when seventy three years old she made the trip alone from Woburn to Ft. Wayne Ind. to see her three sons who were living there (Wilbury, Benj. and Sam'l)
Ten fine sone all reaching manhood, all reflected honor on their parents who must have been enerjetic and resourceful as wall as devout christian character.
Judge I.G.K. says in his biography that each boy as he grew up in the old house was taught to help mother in cooking and other work of the house in the absence of daughters to render such asistance.
They were worthy sons of worthy parents.

was always called Major Kimball because he was a Major in the State Militia, under a commission from
the Governor of Massachusetts, of which Maine was then a part. He had ten sons who were born and reared on a farm in Wells and received the common school education provided by the schools of the town.
As there were no daughters, Deborah took each boy into the kitchen to help her, until he was old enough to go out to work, when the next son ws taken in his place. As a result of this training each of them was a good cook, and in the case of need could get up a meal equal to his wife could prepare.
Wilbraham was a ship's carpenter and build 13 vessels between 1817 and 1830.
They were schooners, brigs and sloops of between 26 and 145 tons.
Died of a disease of the liver.
