Came over from Ireland with his family in 1819.
When he died he left 3 80 acre farm tracts. One in Marion county and
two in Johnson county.
Bought 1 160 acre tract (SE 1/4 sec 36 in Wayne Township) and an 80 acre
tract (W 1/2 of SW 1/4 sec 31) in 1821. Listed as a resident of Butler Ohio

Samuel and Susannah were transferred out of the First Presbyterian
Church of Franklin Indiana in 1833, presumably when they decided to
move to their farm in Marion Co., Ind. They were 'numbered among
the worthy pioneers of Johnston Co'.
Samuel bought a tract of land in Sec 24, Needham Twp., Johnson Co., Ind.
He also owned part of Sec 24. in Needham Twp and Sec 30 in Blue River Twp.
'In 1822, fourteen families moved in (to Johnson Co., Ind) and it is
not ascertained whence came Baker Wells and Samuel Johnson who came in this

Susannah Wallace Johnston was born in 1776 in Ireland, the daughter of Betty and Andrew. She had three sons and four daughters with Samuel Johnston between 1819 and 1834. She died on February 22, 1844, in Indianapolis, Indiana, at the age of 68, and was buried there.
