The 'M' is for McWhorter for his maternal grandmother. This is from LDS extraction of baptismal records for the Warsaw, NY, Presbyterian Ch. I had been looking for the connection to my Scottish line (I'm a piper) for a long time. My mother was a generation or two off, in what she had remembered from her mother's tales. This was the record that led me to the connection. Bethiah Day's mother was Polly McWhorter, dau. of Rev War vet John McWhorter, a very early settler in Warsaw.
