WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to express their sincerest condolences to the family and friends of J. Robert Vonachen, who passed away on August 4, 2002; and
WHEREAS, Born on April 23, 1917 in Peoria, J. Robert Vonachen is the son of the late Dr. John and Isabel Schulte Vonachen; he married Helen Jean Brown on February 4, 1938 in St. Louis, Missouri; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Vonachen attended Washington University in 10 St. Louis; and
WHEREAS, Working in the insurance, paper distribution, and sanitary supply industries, Mr. Vonachen established Vonachen Industrial Supplies in 1947, retiring in 1982; he was a member of the International Sanitary Supply Association, where he received the industry's 'Distinguished Service Award'; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Vonachen was a member of the Rotary Club of Peoria and Standardized Sanitation Systems; and WHEREAS, The passing of J. Robert Vonachen will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife, Helen Jean; his sons, Jay (wife, Betty) and Rudy (wife, Carol); his daughters, Susan (husband, William) Davidson, Cassie (husband, Michael) Schmidt, and Amy (husband, Chuck) Poparad; his sister, Molly McKown; his 13 grandchildren; and his 14 great-grandchildren;
therefore, be it RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with all who knew him, the death of J. Robert Vonachen of Peoria, Illinois; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of J. Robert Vonachen with our sincere condolences.
