- Donald, Sr was born on 7 FEB 1916 in Mt. Pleasant., IA and died on 10 NOV 2010 (age: 94) in Macomb Co., Ill 
He lived on the family farm until his parents moved to
Illinois in 1970. He attended Iowa State University 1965 1969 and 1971 1972, graduating with a Bachelor of Science
in Chemistry. The two-year hiatus was due to being drafted and spending a year in Vietnam as an infantry soldier.
Upon finishing school he moved to San Jose, CA, along with his future wife, Jacquelyn Ann Ven Horst 1949. They
were married in 1974 and have children Stephanie Janeen 1979 (m. in 2008 to Steve Bird 1968), Patricia Janette
1981, Margaret Janelle 1983 (m. in 2016 to Jonathan James Bruesewitz 1983), Andrew Jeffrey 1983, Katherine Joann
1985 (m. in 2011 to Ryan Moynihan 1984), and Robert John 1990.
Their grandchildren are James Lawrence 2009,
Marie Josette 2013, Martin William 2018 (Bird); Thomas James 2018, Hailey Jane 2020 (Bruesewitz); Duncan Charles
2016, and Astrid Jacklyn 2018 (Moynihan).
Ron earned a MBA from Pepperdine University, CA, in 1982. He worked
at a chemical company, then opened a computer store, and more recently worked with a web developer and an
educational company. He enjoyed a summer study program in Peru in 1967 and climbed Machu Picchu, one of the
highlights of his life.
