Sir John Hyde , knt. of Norbury and Hyde , a gallant soldier and one of the companions in arms of the Black Prince, espoused, first, Margaret , dau. of Sir John Davenport , and had two sons, John and Roger , mentioned in settlements of the manor of Norbury , who appear both to have died issueless. Sir John wedded, secondly, one of the daughters of Sir William Baggiley , of Baggiley, and sister and co-heiress of John Baggiley , of Baggiley , by whom he obtained several estates; and the Hydes henceforth used the arms of Baggiley , inverting the colours, and adding a chevron, for difference.
