The mother of Julia Venissa is uncertain. She may have been a daughter of Julia Agrippina the Younger . Other sources assert that Julia Venissa was illegitimate. At any rate, Claudius is stated to have given Julia Venissa in marriage to Caradoc Arviragus , a Silurian-born Roman citizen later appointed King of the Province of Britain in Roman Britannia
