George Washington Sharp Rites Held at South Fork Funeral services for George Washington Sharp, 81, were held at the South Fork Baptist Church on Saturday of last week. The Rev. George Stevens officiated. Death came on Thursday of last week.
He was the son of Lewis and Pheobie Johnson Sharp, and was born on Nov. 29, 1878. He was married to Lucy Ann Bernard, who survives, on April 14, 1901. They became the parents of 14 children, eight of whom survive. The surviving children are Luther Sharp, Mrs. Mary Sallee, Elzie Sharp, Mrs. Frances Fair and Willie Sharp, all of the county; Robert Sharp, Cincinnati; and Mrs. Bessie Norvell and Istham Sharp of Orange, Ill.
There are 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Bartle Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
