-- George --
Lived next to James Jones in Peoria Co., Ill in 1850. James HART lived
with him. The rest of the HART children lived next door at the Home of
James JONES.

Several of the NORWOOD children were buried on the JONES Burial grounds,
presumably on the James JONES farm.

There is now a NORWOOD School on Farmington Rd.
in Pleasant Valley which was
named after the Norwood family.

The Norwood, Hart and Jones familes were all related in Fleming Co. Ky, and Peoria Co., Ill.
Louise Gooding married Fleming Norwood, her sister Sarah Gooding married Amaziah Hart.
Clarissa Jones married Amaziah Hart after her divorce, and after Amaziah's wife died. James Jones married Lucinda Hart, Amaziah's daughter.

The Harts, Jones's, Norwoods and Gooodings all came from Kentucky and the HARTS lived with the NORWOODS and
JONES's after Amaziah HART died about 1846.

The Norwoods lived directly across the road from Mr. JONES. Mr. Jones
was the great, great, grandfather of Ora BURDETTE who supplied some
helpful information on the Hart, Handasyde and Norwood families.

George: History of Christ Church
The southeast window, depicting Joseph and Mary, made up of reds, blues and yellows, was given by Mrs. George Norwood in memoriam of her daughter and husband in 1891. The northeast window was given by Mrs Mary Schofield in memory of Jacob and Nary. Its colors are various shades of yellows and greens. The church's two back windows were installed at the restoration of the church (1937). These follow very closely the theme of the northeast window.

The bell tower was added in the year 1889 of the stone from the home of John Flatman, built about 1850. This was made possible through the efforts of Rebecca J. Walker (later NcCartney). The stone mason was Frank Burlet, ably assisted by Dr. N. A. Johnston, both of Peoria.

The beams of cyprus and ceiling of oak were a gift of Nrs. George Norwood in the year 1892. The wood was imported from the State of Georgia. In the churchyard cemetery lie buried early settlers whose labors raised this beautiful little church and the ancient gravestones are also a source of interest to those historically minded. In one corner lie the headstones of the Benson and Clark families, both largely instrumental in founding the church, who later inter-married.
