north part of Concord for 36 pounds. He was constable in 1699 and 1700,
erected a pound house in 1706, was on the committee to present plans
for the new meeting-house in 1711 (with John Hunt and Samuel Chandler).
As a military man he was successively private, corporal, sergeant and
liutenant. He is called Leuit. on his gravestone.
During the trouble with Gov. ANDROSS, Lt. John HEALD mustered the
military company of Concord and started for Boston to assist in the
expected revolt.
John and Mary's graves are near the top of the hill in the Old Hill
Cmty in Concord.
