Rachel: RACHEL H. FARGO
Died in Milwaukee, Thursday Feb. 20th, at 5 p.m. at the hospital where she was undergoing an operation for cancer, Rachel H. Fargo, widow of Captain W.A. Fargo, of Fond du Lac, and mother of Mrs. William Shambeau of this place, aged 55 years.

Rachel H., daughter of Colonel Edward Beaver, was born in Bristol, Trumbull County, Ohio, Oct. 1846. She was married in Fond du Lac in 1863 to Captain Wm. A. Fargo, who died in Berlin in 1883. Five children survive her, three sons, Edward B. of Mattoon, Wis., Wm. H. of St. Paul, Minn., Robert L. of Hot Springs, Ark., and two daughters, Mrs. Wm. Shambeau of Marion, Wis. and Mrs. Floyd Chaney Jr. of Chicago, all of whom attended the funeral.

The pall bearers were Jno. Chitterling. M. Lesselyoung, Samuel Hotaling, and James Dunn, all members of Capt. Fargo's Company, and G.A.R. men. The funeral was held from the residence of M.V. Fargo, of Fond du Lac at ten a.m. Monday, Rev. H.W. Thompson officiating. Remains were entered in the Rienzi Cemetery by the side of her husband. The floral offerings were profuse and elegant.

Mrs. Fargo during her residence in Marion made many warm friends who mourn her loss. She was a charter member of the Marion Relief Corps, who sent their tribute of loves in a bouqet of lillies. The ADVERTISER extends its sympathies to the bereaved friends.
