Dr. Barrett received his A.B. from Wofford College (class of 1955), a B.D. from Emory University and a Ph.D. from Drew University. As a student Dr. Barrett wrote the Charlie Says column for the Old Gold and Black and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. Dr. Barrett joined the Wofford faculty in 1966 and retired in 1998. During his tenure at Wofford, Dr. Barrett served as Assistant Faculty marshal and was appointed to be the first Peter B. Hendrix Professor of Religion.
