(1884-1956 from a line in Fawn Twp, York Co., PA and Bessie Katherine
Goodwin 1893-1956).
John Lester Douglas was the son of Andrew Nathaniel Douglas (1850-1887)
and Sarah Jane Borden (1857-1927). They were married in
Emerson, Mills Co.,
Andrew Nathaniel Douglas was born in Fawn Twp., York Co., PA to William C.
Douglass (1814-1893) and Sarah [unknown], also b. in 1814
He may be the son of William Douglass and Jane(t) Wallace. This is not the
Canadian line, tho' I have recently wondered if some Tories moved north in
the aftermath of the Revolutionary War who were related to this
family.
Sarah Jane Borden (two paragraphs above) was the daughter of William Lloyd
Borden (whom I believe went by Lloyd), b. in
Douglass (1836-1892). She was born in
and was buried in
son-in-law, Andrew Nathaniel Douglas.
Mary Jane Douglass was one of seven children of Thomas Douglass
(1805-1874) and Mary Ann Seeley (1810-1893). My records show that she died
in Emerson, Wayne Co., NE aged 83 years & 3 mo.
The other children were Henry (1844,
-1921, Emerson, Mills Co., IA), father of 11 children; Thomas Douglass
(abt. 1839-abt 1915); Sarrah Ann Douglass; Elizabeth Douglass;

As another interesting side note: my father's LANE
ancestorscame from
1663. One brother's children kept LANE as a surname,
but the otherbrother's descendants adopted several
surnames: Tice, Tyson,Pieters, Peterson and VAN PELT.
They settled first on what is now
in Hunterdon Co., NJ where they married Jannetje
Van Sicklen [my 6G Grandmother]and
Sickle [my 4G Grandmother].
